What PowerPoint karaoke is
PowerPoint karaoke is a talk you give on slides you have never seen. Someone else built the deck. You open it on stage and invent a story as each slide lands. People also call the game Battle Decks or PPT-oke. The joke is the gap between a serious slide and a presenter who is guessing.
It is not the same as a PowerPoint night, where you pick the topic and write the talk on purpose. Karaoke is cold. For full rules and host copy, read how to play PowerPoint karaoke. To turn a title into a designed deck, use the AI PowerPoint generator.
How to play
- Generate titles on this page, or write your own.
- Build each title into a 5 to 10 slide deck. The presenter must not see it first.
- Draw names. The next person opens the deck and talks for 3 to 5 minutes.
- The room asks questions that have no useful answer.
- Vote, hand out a silly award, and load the next deck.
Timing and scoring
Five to ten slides is enough. One joke per slide. Three to five minutes keeps the room awake. Ten minutes is the hard cap. A phone timer that everyone can see is better than a host who hates cutting people off.
Score each talk from 1 to 10, or skip numbers and give awards: most committed, funniest recovery, best use of a bad slide, worst graph. One person writes the votes down so the night ends on a winner.
Office, classroom, and party variants
Office
Keep topics work-safe. Cap talks at 3 minutes. Skip anything that picks on one colleague.
Classroom
Pick one theme for the class. Load every deck on the teacher laptop. Use a visible timer.
Party
Let titles get weirder. Run awards at the end. The unhinged PowerPoint night ideas list helps if you want prepared talks instead.
Hosting tips
- Load every deck on one laptop before the first talk.
- Draw names for the order so nobody argues about who goes first.
- Show a phone timer. Call time at 5 minutes.
- On Zoom, each presenter shares their own screen and the group votes in chat.
- End with a vote so the night has a winner, not a fade-out.
